This article announces the launch of two country-specific Global AgeWatch Insights reports on Tanzania and Vietnam, released by HelpAge International in partnership with AARP. The reports underscore the critical role of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in reducing health inequalities faced by older people. Despite policy commitments, many older adults remain excluded from affordable, age-appropriate and quality care due to gaps in social protection, low awareness of entitlements, and inadequate data systems that omit older age groups. The country findings highlight variations in coverage—such as only 64 % insured among those aged 50–59 in Vietnam and 88 % of Tanzanians aged 50+ lacking health protection—and call for stronger age-inclusive UHC strategies to leave no one behind.
