World Stroke Day 2025 - driving stroke symptom awareness #ActFAST

Stroke symptom awareness has been identified by clinical and community stakeholders around the world as a fundamental barrier to emergency stroke treatment and rehabilitation, contributing to preventable death and disability. World Stroke Day on October 29th 2025 is focused on driving awareness of stroke symptoms and the need to #ActFAST in seeking emergency medical care.

To help stakeholders get the message across, both online and in communities around the world, WSO has developed a toolkit of high-quality resources, tools, and tips. The World Stroke Day 2025 campaign toolkit aims to make stroke symptom awareness-raising easy for everyone. Online and offline resources have been translated;into 7 global languages;  while stroke symptom icons create a language free tool to help ensure nothing gets lost in translation. An #ActFAST leaflet provides a lasting message that can be shared at events or made available in public spaces and an online poster builder supports users anywhere to create their own high quality campaign branded asset that can be adapted with local imagery, local medical emergency phone number and stroke hospital information.

A series of five 1 minute videos form the basis for an online stroke learning quiz that not only aims to raise awareness of stroke symptoms, but also hope to address some common misperceptions that can act as barriers to symptom recognition and treatment seeking behaviour.

A web-based symptom recognition game has been streamlined and translated, and provides a fun online tool as well as a fun activity for public events.

WSO members and stakeholders around the world have already started their preparations, to help identify and support oportunities for local collaboration, check our Global Map of Action and register your activities.
