The WHO Global Noncommunicable Diseases Platform (GNP) is a department in the WHO Division on Universal Health Coverage/Communicable and Noncommunicable Diseases. The overall purpose of the GNP is to coordinate the United Nations system and mobilize non-State actors to unlock their transformative potential to complement and enhance WHO’s work in supporting governments develop whole-of-government and whole-of-society responses to address NCD-related SDGs.

Established in 2019, the Global NCD Platform leverages GCM/NCD and UNIATF mandates by the World Health Assembly and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) resolutions respectively. The GNP Director’s Officefacilitates synergies between the GCM/NCD’s and UNIATF’s work, and coordinates several strategic multi-partner projects and initiatives to promote multisectoral policies.
