Empowering Skin Health in Africa: the Regional Dermatology Training Centre

Join us as we explore the vital work of the Regional Dermatology Training Centre (RDTC) in Moshi, Tanzania. The RDTC has been a beacon of hope and inspiration for over three decades, pioneering innovative solutions to tackle the pressing issue of limited access to dermatological care in Africa. Through its education, training, and community outreach, the RDTC is reshaping the landscape of dermatology, empowering individuals and healthcare providers to address skin health challenges effectively.

Initiated in 1990 through a partnership between the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS), the Tanzanian Ministry of Health, Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), and the Good Samaritans Foundation (GSF), the RDTC has become a beacon of progress and unity. It has an alumni network of over 314 dermatovenerology officers serving 17 African nations and hosts the flagship Advanced Diploma in Dermato-Venerology (ADDV) programme. It also offers an MMed Dermatology Programme, from which 44 consultants have graduated and now lead in 9 African countries. The RDTC's legacy reverberates across the African continent.
