In an era where new therapies emerge rapidly, there arises a contentious debate regarding their cost-effectiveness and implications for healthcare sustainability. Despite their substantial costs, these technological breakthroughs must be accessible and essentially serve the needs of patients by enhancing their longevity and quality of life.
How can WHO Member States ensure patientsÔÇÖ rights to these advanced treatments are preserved? How can they tackle the widening health disparities among countries at different economic levelsÔÇöa gap widened by these novel treatments?
This Side Event aligned with the 77th WHA seeks to propel this crucial dialogue among key stakeholders by fostering awareness and promoting collaborative strategies to unravel challenges surrounding access to these therapies.
Attendance at the event is limited to in-person participation only.
