Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) commemorated International Childhood Cancer Day 2025 with a special visit from WHO officials, including Ms Ellen Thom, Deputy WHO Representative in Pakistan; Dr Soofia Yunus, DG Federal Health Ministry of Pakistan; and Dr Qudsia Uzma, Technical Officer, RMNCH. The visit, hosted by the Paediatrics Department of ANTH, highlighted the importance of raising awareness, supporting families, and recognizing progress in childhood cancer care at ANTH.
To further support this cause, the Paediatrics Department also organized a bake sale fundraising event for paediatric oncology patients at the hospital. The entire IMDC/ANTH family participated wholeheartedly, showcasing their dedication to making a difference by arranging a large number of stalls and garnering decent amount of funds.
