About

This thematic collection brings together a diverse set of resources from WHO technical departments and GCM participants to mark World No Tobacco Day 2025. Centered around the theme “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products,” the materials included shed light on the deceptive practices used by the tobacco and nicotine industries—especially their aggressive targeting of children and youth through attractive flavors, sleek product designs, and misleading marketing.

The collection aims to support global advocacy efforts, raise awareness, and strengthen implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). It includes evidence-based toolkits, policy briefs, case studies, and campaign materials that call for urgent and unified action to protect young people from industry manipulation. As we celebrate 20 years since the FCTC entered into force, these resources serve as a powerful reminder of progress made—and the work still needed to end preventable deaths from tobacco use.

Whether you're a policymaker, advocate, or public health practitioner, this collection equips you with the tools to help expose harmful industry tactics and accelerate action for a tobacco-free future.
