A collaborative virtual event organized by the Pan African Thoracic Society (PATS) and the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) will present updates from the GOLD 2026 report together with regionally relevant topics.

The programme will include discussions on the relationship between tuberculosis and COPD, efforts to improve global access to inhaled medicines, and the RACE Africa project, which focuses on healthcare worker training, community education, and practical diagnostic tools to support early recognition and management of COPD in frontline settings.
