Palliative Care in Public Policy: Results from a Global Survey

This study reports on a 2017 survey of palliative care experts in 198 countries found that national policy support for palliative care remains limited and uneven. Although 55 countries reported having a national strategy or plan and many indicated some form of legal or governmental recognition, implementation levels vary substantially. Overall, the findings indicate that global public policy support for palliative care is still insufficient to meet development needs.
