A new editorial published in the inaugural issue of IJTLD Chronic Respiratory Disease (IJTLD CRD) outlines a renewed global momentum for advancing chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) within health agendas. Titled “An exciting new chapter for chronic respiratory diseases”, the article highlights recent milestones including the first World Health Assembly resolution on integrated lung health and growing recognition of CRDs within United Nations frameworks 
The editorial highlights persistent gaps in early diagnosis, access to spirometry and essential inhaled medicines, and protection from tobacco smoke and air pollution, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. It calls for coordinated action across policy, primary care, environmental health and research, positioning the launch of IJTLD CRD as a catalyst to democratize knowledge and accelerate evidence-informed policy and clinical practice.
