Unusually for IPCRG, this month saw a focus on advocacy as we approach a major United Nations meeting in September where action on non-communicable disease will be recommended and, hopefully, agreed.  Whilst all NCDs are important to primary care, it’s critical that chronic respiratory diseases are championed, not left behind as typically occurs.  Yet again, we need to fight for equal representation with the other major causes of death and poor quality of life - but our best advocacy is showing by doing. For example, our Asthma Right Care colleagues are mobilising communities to talk about asthma for World Asthma Day and we have new films role-modelling how to have a good primary care consultation for COPD using our Right Care tools.
