About

Palliative care is a crucial component of the World Health Organization's Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. It ensures that children with cancer receive comprehensive care that addresses not only their physical needs but also their emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. This holistic approach begins at diagnosis and continues throughout the treatment journey, regardless of the prognosis.

By alleviating pain and distress, palliative care significantly improves the quality of life for both the child and their family. Integrating palliative care into cancer treatment plans is essential for achieving the initiative's goal of increasing survival rates to at least 60% by 2030 while reducing suffering.
