The Impact of COVID-19 on Obesity and Diabetes in the Asia-Pacific Region

Hosted by NCD Child, in partnership with the Asia-Pacific Pediatric Association (APPA) and Caring and Living as Neighbours (CLAN), the two-day workshop will provide an opportunity for individuals in the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen their advocacy and leadership skills, and collaborate on strategies to keep young people living with obesity and/or diabetes safe during COVID-19.

Day 1 Keynote Speaker:
Mr. Bundi Gunadi Sadikin, Health Minister of Indonesia


Participants will have the opportunity to attend four of the following breakout sessions:

 

Networking- Participants will have an opportunity to introduce themselves, and meet others working in the region.

NCD Champions- Participants will hear from Prof. Aman B. Pulungan, MD, Ph.D., FAAP, FRCPI (Hon.), on leadership opportunities.

WHO NCD Lab- Participants will hear from Dr. Ghaisani Fadiana, MD, NCD Lab Winner, on heer diabetes education project.

Running a Successful Social Media Campaign- Participants will hear from Dwi Lestari Pramesti Ariotedjo, MD, Founder and CEO of the child developmental platform- Tentang Anak.

 Voicing Ideas on Obesity- Participants will have an opportunity to collaborate with others on ideas to prevent and address obesity in the Asia-Pacific region.

 Voicing Ideas on Diabetes- Participants will have an opportunity to collaborate with others on ideas to prevent and address diabetes in the Asia-Pacific region.
