How to Overcome the Challenges Faced with PEN Services in Myanmar – HelpAge International (April 2020)

This policy brief examines the implementation of the WHO Package of Essential Non-Communicable Disease Interventions (PEN) across Myanmar’s 330 townships and identifies key operational challenges such as supply chain gaps, training limitations, low public awareness, and inconsistent service quality. Drawing on implementation experience and research, it puts forward targeted recommendations to expand PEN coverage, strengthen health worker training, enhance diagnostic capacity, and raise community awareness of NCD prevention and care.
