The theme for World Asthma Day 2024 is Asthma Education Empowers.
Asthma is a major cause of death and disability worldwide, affecting 262 million people.
Asthma education is a key element of asthma management, essential to empower patients and their families to understand and adhere to effective treatment.

- What is asthma - what is happening in the lungs and what are the symptoms?
- How to use asthma medicines correctly
- How to reduce exposure to common asthma triggers, such as tobacco smoke and air pollution
- How to assess asthma control and manage their condition when symptoms worsen
