Community health volunteer training manual (213 pages) - This manual is to be used by trainers responsible for training community health volunteers. The manual can also be shared with community health volunteers to enable them to return to the content when needed and should also be accompanied with the self-care manual as a job aid.
This training mainly focuses on Community health care volunteers providing community based health promotion education, screening, referrals and self-care advice.
The role and expectations of community health volunteers varies significantly from context to context. The trainers should decide which modules are most relevant to the requirements of the community health volunteers in their areas.
Facilitators guide: This guide is a job aid for people who deliver training at the community level. While it is designed to be used in conjunction with the Community Health Volunteer (CHV) training manual (above), the sections 2 to 10 feature general advice on facilitation and checklists that facilitators may find useful in other contexts. This guide includes advice on adaptation and contextualisation as the resources have been developed for a range of contexts, they all require adjusting.
