On the occasion of the World Conference on the Social Determinants in Health, convened by WHO in Rio de Janeiro from 19-21 October 2011, the IUHPE reflected on its vision of key areas that require attention in order to support the implementation of effective, equitable and sustainable action on social determinants of health.
