Thalassaemia International Federation

The Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) is a patient-driven, non-profit, non-governmental federation, established in 1987 with Headquarters in Nicosia, Cyprus with 240 members from 60 countries globally. TIF’s mission is to ensure the equal access of patients to quality health and social care. The work of TIF is organised under four pillars of activities: Education; Awareness Raising and Networking; Policy Advocacy and Public Policy Improvement; and Research. These focus on: the clinical management of haemoglobin disorders and the prevention of new affected births; the social inclusion of patients; rendering national health systems more resilient and efficient; and the promotion of research.
