Joint GOLD-GINA perspective on addressing global challenges in COPD and asthma

A new Pulmonary Perspective article published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine presents a shared vision from the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) on addressing the global challenges of COPD and asthma.

The article outlines common priorities across both conditions, including prevention, early and accurate diagnosis, and long-term management, while highlighting emerging challenges such as climate change and health system constraints. It reflects a joint commitment by GOLD and GINA to strengthen collaboration and improve outcomes for people living with chronic respiratory diseases worldwide, and is dedicated to the memory of Professors Eric Bateman and Robert Rodriguez-Roisin for their global leadership in asthma and COPD.
