Join the global call to action for clean air

Air pollution is responsible for at least 7 million deaths annually and affects billions worldwide, contributing to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and lung cancer.

The WHO second global conference on air pollution and health in March 2025 presents an opportunity for governments, decision-makers, and businesses to take bold action to reduce air pollution and protect public health.

  • The call to action urges governments, leaders, donors, and the private sector to:
      • Implement and enforce WHO air quality guidelines to reduce emissions at the source
      • Support a just and inclusive clean energy transition, phasing out fossil fuels
      • Invest in better air quality monitoring, public health research, and surveillance
      • Elevate clean air as a priority on national and global health agendas
      • Strengthen health systems’ leadership and intersectoral collaboration

Sign the call to action today and support efforts to improve air quality worldwide.
