This first global report on atopic dermatitis signals the start and remit of the Global Atopic Dermatitis (GADA), a project initiated by the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and generated in collaboration with International Society of Atopic Dermatitis (ISAD), the International Eczema Council (IEC), the European Taskforce for Atopic Dermatitis (ETFAD) and the International Alliance of Dermatology Patient Organizations (GlobalSkin). The report summarizes all known aspects of atopic dermatitis and presents the disparities regarding the burden of disease and care, resulting in unmet needs. It represents the first phase of the GADA project's efforts to close the current gaps in epidemiological data on eczema while centering patient voices. The GADA team is led by Professor Carsten Flohr (St John's Institute of Dermatology, King's College London, UK) and consists of 13 international academic/patient collaborators.
