National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH & Integrative Medicine
National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH & Integrative Medicine, not for profit ISO 9001 Organisation in association with United Nations Department of Global Communications, aiming to improve the quality of life of the terminally ill and other patients who suffer from excruciating pain and other distressing symptoms, often cursing themselves for none of their sins while praying for an early death. Inexpensive pain relief and Palliative Care can alleviate their sufferings by integration of Modern Medicine with AYUSH and empowering the AYUSH Doctors to practice Palliative Care across India. Increased life expectancy has led to poor quality of death while increasing the costs of death exponentially on account of invasive treatment. Gone are the days when elderly died peaceful natural death with family at home. Our 50 Chapters having 210 Members and our 293 Students involving Doctors, Nurses & Volunteers have worked extensively in treating the pain and improving the quality of life of the patients in distress through Palliative Care which is lacking across the Globe. Palliative Care has the magic to address all this and much more hence NAPCAIM has been formed by experienced Palliative Care Professionals of various domains of Allopathy, AYUSH and Social Workers creating a National Network. We aim to develop AYUSH Interventions in Palliative Care in response to the urgent requirement of integrating all modalities of treatments with Modern Medicine, to attain the Goal No. 3 of Sustainable Development Goals 2030 of the United Nations i.e. “Good Health and Well Being” where Good Health aims to the disease free Society and Well Being points towards Palliative Care.
