When we started planning the newsletter for August, a summer holiday month in the UK, we expected a short one - how wrong we were! In research, we update you about important global health research programmes in South Asia and Latin America; announce the call for our next Scientific Meeting in Brasov, Romania, and invite you to participate in our own important real life research about systemic steroids.  In education, we offer you digital, pictorial and translated resources you can share with those with lived experience of chronic respiratory diseases, and for primary care colleagues, our key materials in more languages. And finally, and importantly, we share with you two excellent talks from our recent conference on Planetary Health.
