WHO Rehabilitation Programme Stakeholder Webinar

22 & 24 November 2021

Background

Globally, an estimated 2.4 billion people live with conditions that benefit from rehabilitation, and this figure is growing by the day. Despite the huge need, rehabilitation services are scarce in many parts of the world. To address this, in 2017, WHO, Member States, development partners and civil society launched the Rehabilitation 2030 initiative. The initiative called for all stakeholders to join forces and take coordinated global action to strengthen the health system to provide rehabilitation for all who need it.

The initiative has created substantial momentum in the rehabilitation sector, with many stakeholders rising to the occasion and taking commendable actions towards health system strengthening. WHO has contributed to this progress by providing technical support to Member States and key stakeholders, by developing practical guidance and tools and by increasing the development of robust evidence for rehabilitation. To continue to promote collaboration within the sector, WHO will hold a two-part webinar, providing an update on recent WHO activities and technical products. The webinar is open to anyone wishing to attend.

Objectives

  1. Introduce new rehabilitation WHO technical products and activities that support health system strengthening.
  2. Strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing between WHO and the global rehabilitation community.

Event will take place on:

Part 1: 22 November 13:00-15:00 CET
